Dave’s duel Amal powered sporty. This bike was built in 6 Saturdays and finished assembly in a campground the morning of the SMOKE OUT WEST 2.

Features a one off copper oil tank with Stainless steal top and bottom. Our style of frisco a sporty tank for the most fuel. A hand tooled and formed seat by cyclecosmetics.com.

The handle bars are 18” long and run N.O.S. British made 1” levers. The front master cylinder is off a 76 BMW . The 2 into 1 exhaust pipes were made by Dave ( with some guidance ) out of left over stock pipes . The ign. Was converted to points and timed at 32 deg BTDC.

My personal ride BSA A10 mild custom . This bike just shows what you can do without cutting a frame.

The picture above is how it looked last year.  90% of this bike is stock BSA parts, Just not this model!

This is my wife’s Triumph 500. We thru it together in a little over 2 days out a very poorly done restoration nightmare. The only frame modification is the rear seat loop was narrowed and lifted .

The last two and the next one are all part of a phase I went through last year. Trying to see how much stock parts I could use during a custom build.

This is the only pic I have of this bike completed! All the sheet metal was made from stock sheet metal. The only things that are not BSA are the forks, front wheel, head light, tail light, seat, and handle bars . The paint was done by cyclecosmetics.com

I built it in trade for some photo work and a couple triumph preunit engines. It has a 2” stretch , running a 21/18 wheel combo, and was made for a guy who stands 5’4” tall.

This is my buddy Josh’s bike. He did most of the work and fab himself. I just helped with the machining and odd welding.  This was the first time I did duel Amals for a sporty. I knew it would work a long time ago but never had the chance to do it. Then Josh’s stock carb was so bad I convinced him tho let me do it. This set up was done by welding two Norton commando manifolds to the stock sporty. This was tricky since the sporty is a cast iron manifold and the Norton ones were cast aluminum. Thank god for nickel bronze rod!

Now putting a British duel leading shoe in a Harley hub is no easy task. This took most of a Saturday afternoon. So now we have a Iron head Sporty that starts in one kick cold and stops all by using British parts!

The long bike I made for a friend in England. Although The story of this bike goes South. It was still a learning experience. This was the first time I ever built a long bike and had to do it in a hurry!

Here we have it just starting out. The late 60’s BSA are the best to make radical customs out of . The reason is that the Vin #’s are located on the front engine mount, so you can cut of the neck section without losing you vin’s.

Although I had to refund his money and ship the bike back it has become one of my favorite rides. The cause of all the hassles was a faulty ign. Switch which took me some time to figure out.

I must say nothing rides better on a long Nevada road then a long chopper! I do plan on removing the back bone to change the fuel tank and changing the bars.

Rob’s Iron head that will never be finished. This year has been nuts! I keep building and working on sporty’s. This Frame I nade in about 4 hours for my machinist friend Rob. He sold his Honda chop ( because it wasn’t a harley ) to buy a Sporty basket case. To help him out I made him a frame

We have 80% of this bike done now, but since his clutch basket is bad and he never has $ it will never be done I’ll try to remember to take some new pictures to show.

Here is My fellow IronWorker Buddy Karl’s bike. It was just supposed to be a simple hard tail install that went my way! He bought a Weldon hardtail from Kansas Customs, that well didn’t fit! But once we cut the stock frame to find that out it was to late. While he sat pissed off I told him God wants you to have a better looking more custom chop.

He has posters of Indian Larry in his house and I think he has all the books too. So that is the main reason we did up the down tube

Right now the bike is apart getting paint and chrome done So look for some fresh pics later
